Professional Review

Saurian is a game that takes you on adventure that takes place way back in the past when the human race wasn’t even in planning. Download Saurian for your PC from Steam and experience the life of a dinosaur!

Graphics: 5

Graphics are a very important aspect of just about any simulation game, and the same is true for Saurian. Fortunately for us, the developers over at Urvogel Games have done a great job on the visuals in this game. The graphics have the right amount of details which allows them to look amazing without being too realistic, and they are undoubtedly a big part of Saurian’s appeal.

Gameplay: 4

Being in a dinosaur’s skin must be more exciting and fun than just running around like you would in just about any other animal simulator. This is why you get to do a lot more than that, with different actions and behaviors depending on the type of dinosaur you choose to play. Overall, the game aims to be as realistic as possible, and it surely succeeds at that. Unfortunately, at times the realism comes at the cost of more exciting gameplay. You can only do what an actual dinosaur likely could have done, and the creatures around you behave just like real animals do. If a dinosaur isn’t hungry, it isn’t going to attack you no matter how many times you cross its path, and that’s something that makes many encounters not as challenging as they could have been.

Controls: 5

The controls in this game are very realistic, and there’s a whole bunch of actions that are unique to each playable dinosaur. The control buttons that are mapped to these actions allow you to perform them quickly and precisely, just as you would imagine it happening.

Replay Value: 3

If you’re a fan of well-made simulators or dinosaurs, you’ll likely keep coming back to the game just to experience the atmosphere once again. Otherwise, you’ll be hard-pressed to find much else to do once you’ve got down the basics of survival. Of course, the game is still being developed so a Saurian update could add new exciting features or more playable dinosaurs to spice up the gameplay, but for now, it’s a pretty straightforward one-time experience.

The Bottom Line

Currently, Saurian offers a great way to see what it was like to be a dinosaur, but whether or not you’re going to revisit the game largely depends on your interests and preferences as a player. In any case, it’s a well-made game that can surely provide at least several hours of enjoyable gameplay for just about anyone.

Conclusion

You need to download Saurian to personally see if it’s a game you enjoy since its strong aspects and shortcomings could become dealbreakers for different kinds of gamers.
